Mitch Allen has 30 years experience in academic and professional publishing. He launched Left Coast Press, Inc. after leaving his position as Publisher of AltaMira Press, which he founded and directed for its first ten years. AltaMira became a leading provider of information on museum practice, cultural resources management, public history and applied anthropology, among other topics, under Mitch's leadership. Prior to running AltaMira, he served as Executive Editor for Sage Publications, a leading social science publisher. He has been responsible for publishing almost 1000 books, dozens of professional journals, and several software products in his career.
Mitch is also an archaeologist (Ph.D., UCLA) who publishes regularly in that field. He is Adjunct Professor of Anthropology at
Mills College in
Oakland,
CA and has also taught at
Santa Clara University and
University of Maryland.

Jennifer Collier, Senior Editor, was Acquisitions Editor for AltaMira Press and Executive Editor for University of Alaska Press before joining the staff of Left Coast. In between those publishing stints, she received an M.A. in geography from Cambridge University. Jennifer is based in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
